Avoid White, For A Healthy Diet

Say ‘No’ to the colour white in your diet – There’s a reason that color foods are more attractive. Not only do they ‘look’ good, they are nutritious as well. Foods that are white in colour contain very little in terms of vitamins and minerals and are better off being eliminated all together.

Some foods that are included in the ‘white’ group are breads, potatoes, crackers, rice and pasta. But you can still enjoy these foods in other colours. Instead of reaching for ‘white’ bread, choose a wheat or a whole grain type of bread. The same applies to crackers, pasta and rice; choosing whole grain varieties will satisfy the cravings of such foods and maintain your health at the same time.

Of course, you can still enjoy some ‘white’ foods in your diet but choosing the alternative is much wiser and healthier. My mantra remains; moderation is the key.

Adding color to your plate will ensure you are eating a healthy meal. Adding more fruits and vegetables and limiting the ‘white’ versions is always a better choice
